exhausted
but also happy. The prep work for Aromatic is just about complete. 99% is done. The finishing touches tomorrow morning before we open, just to put that final shine on things. I feel like I can relax for a couple minutes and actually breathe.
The site looks fantastic. Fan. Tas. Tic.
and I might get a few hours sleep tonight. Perhaps something to eat might be a good idea too.
I'm really satisfied with how my space came out. Maybe that doesn't sound right but "happy" doesn't either. I like it, I feel like I did want I wanted to do and I'm pleased with how it all turned out. That better?
I've been using the stairs too often while on site putting out fires and such so I'm not getting a whole lot of roller skating time in. And with tomorrow being opening night and a gazillion people expect I'm thinking the skates aren't getting any use this weekend.
(ahh, but after we close down for the night... watch out!)

Good luck, Tracy! I'd love to get down there to see it sometime in the next month, but my guess is that you'll help us poor souls from far away with a few photos posted on Flickr ... ple-e-e-ease?
Saw your exhibit tonight. Wow. It was the most powerful exhibit I've ever seen, perhaps (as indicated by this comment in your blog, as I've never felt the urge to leave a comment for a stranger before). Was it a coincidence that your installation was just opposite the bar? I'm sorry your parents suck. I wish I could share mine with you. Thank you, Tracy, for sharing this part of yourself with strangers like me.
I can't stop thinking about the installation. Your work keeps intruding into my thoughts as I go about my day. I'm looking forward to returning and spending a bit more time looking at those slides.
At the show, I was struck by how voyeuristic it felt to intrude into your family's life story. Even your note seemed to reinforce this feeling. "It's OK to look" I think you indicated on a card.
Then to come here to your site and see that you have revealed a great deal about yourself, well, it confuses me. Makes me curious. The small girl in front of the refrigerator with her teddy hardly seems like the woman in some of your photos here. It is interesting to speculate how your family history uniquely prepared you for the person you became. Also wonder what aspect of who you are alienated your parents so thoroughly.
It's nice to see good art that makes us think.
If art is supposed to inform, enlighten and/or entertain, then your work at Artomatic 2008 is some of the best and most powerful in the show. Very well done.
Thank you.

Hi Tracy!
Thanks for reading, and also for clarifying the string of lights:) It makes much more sense now, because I saw your piece in the middle of a rainy Mother's Day.
Reading your profile makes me feel like we are much more alike than anyone would have guessed.
Cheers,
Gina-Marie
